Pregnancy Reveal {Snapshots by Heather}

It is always a good day for me when I get to go take some photos. I loooooooove family milestones. I was so excited with Jennifer asked if I could help her come up with a way to tell her husband they were going to have a baby.

He had no clue what was going on. I had taken their engagement and wedding photos, so he thought we were just getting together for some quick anniversary photos.

I texted him earlier in the week and explained that I had a surprise for each of them and I needed to know what why he loves being married. He seriously responded with a paragraph stating that “He loves her and wouldn’t want to spend a single day with anyone else.” So sweet.

Sooooo…a couple days later, we meet up and I have created some chalkboards with his response, and hers saying “You’re going to be a Daddy.”

So cute. I really love how what he said was a surprise for her, too.

He is smiling, but he has NO IDEA! Ahhh!

I told them to turn around and show each other what their board says.

My Favorite Photo 🙂

I asked them before if I could have someone come shoot some behind the scenes video so I could put it on my website and (probably against his better judgment) they agreed, so I was able to give them a video of the whole thing.

Thanks for letting me capture your love, you guys! So excited for you!

Motivation for the “Working Mom”

I don’t care if you work part time, full time, every day of the week, a couple days of the week, only during the summers, only during the school year, or your job is solely to stay home and take care of your family…it is all work.

We all have a lot on our plates, and when talking with other moms, I realize how alike we all are. We all feel insignificant at times. There are time we can’t keep up. Times we are being pulled in a million directions. Times when we get in our own heads and second guess everything we are doing.

As a follower of Christ, I find that I am spoken to when it is needed the most. At a time when I am wondering if working away from the home is the right thing. Wondering if keeping my kids enrolled in day school is what is truly best for them. After all, most of my working goes to pay to keep them in school. We get a lesson plan sent home over the holiday to continue what they have learned during the week. They were highlighting Colossians 3:23 which says in whatever you to do, to work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

It all hit me at once, right when I needed it the most. I realized that, although it is not ideal for everyone, my family is right where it needs to be. My kids are in a school that teaches them the love of Jesus. I am blessed to have a job that appreciates me, with a boss that walks with Christ, and understands that I am a Mom, and my family comes first.

I encourage you Moms, when you are at work and feeling insignificant, to remember that you are not here to please your boss. You are working from your heart for the Lord. When you feel like you are being tugged and pulled into a million different directions, just remember, the Lord intended for you to be caregiver for your family. You were made for this, and you have him by your side.

Organizing my Household {How I Remember to Pay Bills}

3 things.

  1. I HATE paying our bills.
  2. My Husband is clueless on “my methods” to making sure they get taken care of.
  3. Therefore, I am responsible for organizing the payments. BUT I have found a way that really works for us to share.

Materials Needed:

  • Super Cute Binder to Keep them all together (I use This One)
  • 3 Hole Punch
  • Bills {Check the Mail :P}

How I organize these:

  1. Inside this binder, I have 12 dividers (Each one labeled for each month)
  2. Once I receive a bill in the mail, I immediately punch holes and place it in front of all of the dividers.
  3. On “Bill Paying Day” (Wednesdays for Me), I open my binder, sort through which ones we will pay this week and put the others back in front of the dividers.
  4. I schedule payments (I do all online Bill Pay through Bank of America). I write the payment amount, delivery date, amount to pay and confirmation number on the bill.
  5. Once I complete Step 4, I place it behind its respected divider.

This has been super awesome for me because I don’t miss payments, AND I have a record for every payment I have made. I have had to go back and find some missing payments before and I cannot tell you the grief I saved by already having them all together.

Here is my binder.

Here is a preview of my inside.

AND here are my past binders. You can see how long this has been working for our family.

You can also see the very first year, Husband would not let me buy a cute binder. That was a dreary year. 😛

I have tried and tried to get Husband to take notes in case anything were ever to happen to me, but I have had no luck. Maybeeeeee he will read this and start paying attention.

😂😂😂😂 (Love you, babe!)
